01 / The throughline

Different roles.
One consistent instinct.

Good people who should know each other should know each other.

Tim’s career has moved through entrepreneurship, investing, community building, teaching and sports business, but the thread connecting every chapter has always been people.

For Tim, the value of a connection is not the introduction itself. It is what becomes possible when the right experience, perspective or relationship enters the room at the right time.

02 / Building the foundation

Different experiences.
A broader perspective.

Tim has had a seat at nearly every side of the table: building businesses, investing in entrepreneurs and developing people. Each experience shaped how he recognizes the people and perspectives that can change an outcome.

01Community builder

Xvisory

Tim co-founded an invitation-only community that brings senior leaders from teams, leagues and federations together to exchange perspective, collaborate on challenges and create opportunities for one another.

Role & contribution

Tim has facilitated more than 7,000 introductions among members and their broader networks, connecting people around opportunities, challenges, expertise and shared interests.

02Investor

Stadia Ventures

As a co-founder of Stadia Ventures, Tim has worked directly with companies across its portfolio as founders evaluate technologies, business models, partnerships and opportunities throughout the sports industry.

Role & contribution

The work reinforced a lesson now central to XVP: sometimes the most important contribution is not an answer, but the person who has already lived the challenge.

03Mentor

Saint Louis University

Across 18 years as a Senior Adjunct Professor and seven years leading the Center for Entrepreneurship, Tim taught, mentored and connected future entrepreneurs and sports business leaders.

Role & contribution

He also created SLU’s Sports Business Program, helping build an environment where ambitious people could learn from one another, form meaningful relationships and turn ideas into action.

03 / The professional record

The right connection can change the outcome.

Tim has spent more than 30 years learning the sports industry from the inside, building companies, launching organizations, investing in emerging businesses and developing future leaders.

At XVP, that experience helps him understand what a client is truly trying to accomplish, recognize which perspectives could alter the trajectory and assemble the people best positioned to help.

Tim Hayden is an entrepreneur, investor, mentor and connector who has spent more than three decades building businesses, developing people and creating relationships across the sports industry. His career has been guided by a simple belief: the right people, brought together at the right time, can change what is possible.

As a Partner at XVP, Tim helps organizations navigate complex challenges and opportunities by bringing the right experience into the room. His role often begins with understanding what a client is really trying to accomplish, recognizing the perspectives that could make a difference and assembling the people best positioned to help. His relationships span teams, leagues, federations, brands, agencies, investors and leaders across the global sports ecosystem.

Tim is also Co-Founder and CEO of Xvisory, a highly selective, invitation-only community of senior sports leaders from teams, leagues and federations. Xvisory brings leaders together across disciplines, organizations and markets to share perspective, collaborate on challenges and create opportunities for one another. Through that community, Tim has facilitated more than 7,000 introductions among members and their wider networks.

As a co-founder of Stadia Ventures, Tim has worked alongside founders and senior leaders across sports, technology, media, venues and performance. The firm’s portfolio has grown to more than 80 sports technology companies and produced almost 20 exits, giving Tim a sustained view of how new technologies, business models and partnerships move through the sports industry.

Tim’s entrepreneurial career includes Vivid Sky, an early mobile platform created to enhance the in-stadium fan experience, and helping launch nine sports organizations, including Saint Louis Athletica, AC St. Louis and the North American Soccer League. Those experiences gave him firsthand exposure to the realities of building sports businesses, navigating complex partnerships and turning ambitious ideas into operating organizations.

His commitment to developing people extends beyond business. Tim spent 18 years as a Senior Adjunct Professor at Saint Louis University and seven years leading its Center for Entrepreneurship. He also created SLU’s Sports Business Program, connecting students with entrepreneurs, executives and investors across the industry. Across those roles, he taught and mentored thousands of students, founders and entrepreneurs.

At the center of it all is the conviction that good people who should know each other should know each other. For Tim, building those connections and knowing when the right person can change the trajectory of a challenge is both the work and the reward.

04 / Selected work

Connections are not the outcome.
What happens next is.

Selected examples of how Tim’s experience, relationships and perspective have helped create opportunities across sports.

01

Introduction · Sports collaboration

AEW + TMRW Sports

One introduction. Two different sports. One unexpected event.

Tim connected the COO of AEW with TMRW Sports’ CTO, believing the two sports leaders should know each other. Their conversation quickly led to the creation of AEW Collision: Fairway To Hell, an AEW wrestling event staged at TGL’s SoFi Center.

Role & contribution

Tim saw the potential for a combustible conversation, made the introduction and stepped back. The two leaders took it from there, turning a brainstorm into one of the most unexpected collaborations in sports, with professional wrestling ultimately taking place in a sand trap at TGL’s SoFi Center.

02

Technology · League innovation

MLB + Satisfi Labs

Opening the door to Major League Baseball.

Tim recognized that Satisfi Labs’ emerging fan-assistance technology could address a challenge MLB was actively exploring: improving the stadium experience across its teams. He connected the company with MLB’s innovation leadership, leading to a pilot that ultimately expanded into every MLB stadium and to MLB’s direct investment in the company.

Role & contribution

Tim made the initial introduction and served as a mentor to Satisfi throughout its discussions with MLB, helping the company navigate the relationship and negotiations as the pilot took shape. The first pilot was the inflection point; what followed expanded far beyond MLB.

03

Venture investment · Wearable health

Oura + Stadia Ventures

Seeing the signal early.

When a trusted friend opened the door to Oura’s Series C in 2020, Tim recognized an early opportunity already earning strong praise among his European sports and innovation network. He brought it to his sports venture firm, Stadia Ventures.

Role & contribution

Tim sourced the opportunity, advocated for the investment and participated in due diligence. Stadia invested in one of Oura’s earliest rounds, gaining access through a relationship that opened a door few investors were invited to walk through. Oura later filed for an initial public offering.

05 / Where Tim is most useful

Bring Tim in when the question is not just “What should we do?”

Tim is most valuable when the room needs a perspective it does not yet have. He can recognize who has navigated something similar, who sees the challenge differently and whose experience can help turn uncertainty into forward movement.

XVP

Who should be in the room?

Bring Tim the question, opportunity or unfamiliar territory. He will help identify the perspective that can change what comes next.
